50 best movie kisses of all time revealed…
JACK and Rose’s passionate snog on the front deck of the Titanic has been voted the best movie kiss of all-time.The romantic moment between Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio’s characters takes place seconds after Rose utters the famous line, “I’m flying”.
The top two places were taken by Titanic and Lady and the Tramp
What are the other top rated movie kisses?
The multi-Oscar winning film fought off stuff competition from The Lady and the Tramp’s meatball scene, and the smooch between Sam and Molly in Ghost.The research of 2,000 British adults was commissioned by TLC last year to celebrate the launch of Love At First Kiss.
“Kisses are such a big part of movies so it’s fascinating to see which ones have had the biggest impact,” a spokesman for TLC said.
Plenty of rom-coms were in the top 10 “For many people, their first experience of a ‘proper’ kiss is likely to have been seeing one on screen.
“So perhaps respondents had a sense of nostalgia when it came to voting for their favourites.”
Pretty Woman’s fire escape kiss came fourth, followed by the snog at the end of Dirty Dancing – and Bridget and Mark’s kiss in the snow in Bridget Jones’s Diary.
Spiderman’s upside down smooch came seventh while the rain-soaked embrace between Holly Golightly and Paul Varjak in Breakfast at Tiffany’s came eighth.
Cartoon lovers voted for the ogre snog in Shrek
Bella and Edward’s first kiss in Twilight also appeared in the poll, along with the “you had me at hello” moment from Jerry Maguire and the elevator kiss in Romeo + Juliet.
The scene where Ron and Hermione’s finally kiss in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows also featured.
Love Actually features twice on the list, and the favourite was between Hugh Grant and Martine McCutcheon
Both films had some iconic kisses, and they both made it into the top 20.
Although you may not associate E.T. with romance, it made it to number 18.
Teen favourite Twilight enters the list at 21
Some debate whether 50 Shades Of Grey is entirely romantic - but it made it onto the list at number 22, so there are clearly some fans of Christian Grey.
Love Actually made its second appearance on the list with its controversial kiss between Keira Knightley's character and her on-screen husband's best friend.
There are some very traditional kisses on the list between 27 and 32
The adorable kiss between Macaulay Culkin and Anna Chlumsky in My Girl clearly touched some hearts, too.
And 80s fans will be pleased to see Back To The Future on the list, too.
A few 80s films made the list
Same sex kisses in Cruel Intentions and Brokeback Mountain were also on the list.
When Harry Met Sally is a firm favourite on any romcom shelf and also features.
And people clearly love films from the 80s, as Breakfast Club comes in at 38, and The Goonies comes up as number 39.
French film Amelie features on the list
International film lovers adore Amelie, and voted it in as number 44.
The Fault in Our Stars is a teen favourite, and the emotional kiss between Hazel and Gus made the list.
